Taj Khazana Presents 'Pochampally' by Rahul Mishra

Taj Khajana held a fashion show focussing on the famous Pochampally weaves but with a difference. They Showcased designer collection of Pochampally weave on Taj Mahal Place,Mumbai. Reputed Designer Rahul Mishra had created a subtle designs Ikat designs. This is the great empowerment for the Indian weavers, especially Pochampally people. Hope more designers could come up with showcasing Indain fabrics on the ramp.  

The collection put together by fashion designer Rahul Mishra and displayed by models sought to recreate the richness and feel of the ancient Han-Atlas fabric, a multi-hued hand woven and hand dyed Ikkat fabric of early 19th century of central Asia. This is stated to be once popular with traders on the silk route and stood as a symbol of luxury and power.

FDCI announces Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week Autumn-Winter 2012

The Fashion Design Council of India today announced the scintillating list of runway and stall designers who would be showcasing at the Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week Autumn-Winter 2012. Asia's biggest fashion event will kick off on Wednesday, February 15^th with 138 designers featuring splendid creations. The five-day fashion event from February 15-19, 2012 at Hall no. 18 at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi will bring loads of creativity and business along with the unsurpassed talent on the ramp.

 

Paris Couture Week: Valentino Couture Spring Summer 2012

PIER PAOLO PICCIOLI and Maria Grazia Chiuri presented something very different to the other couture shows we have seen this week for their Valentino spring/summer 2012 collection. It was a lovely show and a very romantic and girlish take on couture, working with prints and what looked like sprigged cotton – but wasn’t – in heavy silk and satin.

INSPIRATION FROM CHANEL S & S 2012

 CHANEL SPRING SUMMER 2012 collection had inspired form the Snowfall in the Sea. Designer Karl Lagerfeld had highly got inspired from the sea creatures. Blue sea is never-ending with different unknown marine creatures and it has different motifs that one can bring from the sea. The stage decoration itself had said million words of his collection would be from the deep sea. The backgrounds and decoration were with shells,corals, bubbles,sea wood, pearls and it proved that the parade was just inside the deep sea.

  It was the nice start of the show. The designer had a great sense of the motif and fabric selection. It was like the models or mermaids from sea are at ramp here. The fabrics were in the wave texture and with different embellishments of marine motifs. The colors were romantic cool silver,blue,cherry,pink and applying them best on the fabric silhouettes were chic. It was like a snowfall inside the deep sea. Inspirational one.
